Prominent Dealership Attorney W. Scott Simpson to Give Legal Perspective at Women in Automotive Convention

ORLANDO, Fla., May 31, 2017 -- Women in Automotive, a collection of industry leaders focused on empowering and developing women in the automotive sector, announced today that W. Scott Simpson, Senior Partner at Simpson, McMahan, Glick & Burford in Birmingham, has been added to the keynote speaking roster for July's Women in Automotive conference, to be held in Orlando.

Simpson brings a welcome legal viewpoint to the conference. His chosen subject, Steering Women into Sales: Benefiting from Gender Diversity and Best Practices for the Hiring, Retention, and Advancement of Women, will resonate with attendees and equip them with new information on this important industry topic.

Simpson is well-respected in automotive circles, serving as legal counsel for automobile dealerships throughout the Southeastern United States. He is also the regular legal columnist for Dealer Digest, a quarterly publication that provides industry news for dealership management. In addition to representing automotive clients, Simpson specializes in dispute resolution and has handled cases in more than 40 states over the last 25 years.

"Automobile dealerships would benefit in many ways with increased gender diversity," Simpson said. "This conference is a wonderful way to help promote best practices for hiring and retaining female employees and I'm pleased to be part of it."

Simpson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in 1989 and received his Juris Doctor degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1993. Since 2002, he has taught a class at Samford on dispute resolution to educate and inform tomorrow's young attorneys. He has also spent time lecturing at Cambridge University in England and several law schools in Brazil.

"This conference offers the opportunity to hear from a variety of individuals who have a significant impact upon the automotive industry on an everyday basis," said Christy Roman, Founder of Women in Automotive. "As an attorney who represents dealerships, Scott Simpson brings his unique expertise to the event, and we are happy he will be one of our featured speakers."

The three-day conference, set for July 9-11, draws upon top female success stories as it assists the automotive community in recruiting, retaining and developing female employees and leaders. It includes a networking event, speakers, breakout sessions, workshops and booth displays – all centered on the goal of educating and inspiring women in all areas of the automotive industry.
