Evo Car Share coming to New Westminster

BURNABY, BC, April 12, 2017 /CNW/ - Evo Car Share, the only B.C.-based, one-way car share service provider, created by BCAA, announced today that the service is coming to New Westminster – its furthest foray out of Vancouver since it launched two years ago.

"New West residents told us they want Evo – they want a new, sustainable way to drive into Vancouver or tackle those local hills with a load of groceries," says Tai Silvey, Evo director. "New West's rich history, modern developments and changing demographic make this a natural choice for us and we can't wait to hit the Royal City streets."

Evo launch day

Starting on May 19, 2017, Evo members can pick up and drop off cars in New Westminster. The Evo Home Zone in New West extends north from 10th Avenue all the way south to the waterfront and reaches as far west as 14 Street and as far east as East Columbia and Braid street. As a start, dedicated Evo parking will be located throughout busy areas, including Sapperton and  New West's downtown core.

To thank the City for welcoming Evo, residents are invited to join Evo with a waived membership fee, and will receive 30 free driving minutes (over $45 value).

Evo's latest expansion also includes adding 250 more cars into its rapidly growing fleet made up entirely of hybrid, four-door, five-passenger cars equipped with bike and ski racks. This will be Evo's fifth expansion since it launched two years ago.

With new Evo cars rolling out in upcoming months, Evo remains the fastest growing car share fleet in Canada. Evo Members can use an Evo car by the minute and pick up and drop off cars anywhere within its Home Zone, meaning Members can use a car for as long as they want without having to return it to a dedicated location.

Evo's fast-paced expansion now extends its Home Zone within Vancouver as far south as S.W. Marine Drive, all the way north to the water of downtown Vancouver, east to Boundary Road and west to Alma. Evo's Home Zone also includes North Vancouver and now, New Westminster with Satellite Home Zones at Metrotown, Park'N Fly at YVR, Grouse Mountain, SFU and BCIT campuses in Burnaby, Capilano University and UBC.
