National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) Board of Directors Elects New Officers and Hires a Full-Time Director of Operations
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 22, 2016 -- The National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) announced today that their Board of Directors elected Mr. Christopher Rohe, SVP for Strategic Development at Stryke Industries (Warsaw, IN), to serve as President of the Executive Committee; Mr. Michael Ladika, Senior Program Manager – R&D at Southwest Research Institute (San Antonio, TX), as Vice President; and, Mr. Gerald Lane, President of Great Lakes Systems & Technology (Chesterfield Twp, MI), as Treasurer, for the manned and unmanned ground vehicle-focused consortium.
The NAMC Board of Directors consists of 18 individuals elected from nearly 300 members and appointed by supported organizations - the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) and the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems Incorporated (AUVSI). The Board of Directors come from Industry and Academia including: Endeavor Robotics, QinetiQ North America, BAE Systems, University of Texas at Arlington, JHNA Consultants, the Nevada Automotive Test Center, Lockheed Martin, Polaris Industries, Inc., General Dynamics Land Systems and X (formerly Google [X]).
"Personally and professionally I am very humbled and honored to step into this importantly critical national leadership role. I am extremely passionate about the charter of NAMC and its ability to rapidly transition new, novel and transformative solutions to those that defend our great nation. I look forward to leveraging the solid foundation built by the NAMC staff and leadership before me," said Rohe. "My goals as President will be to increase visibility for NAMC as well as its members, specifically with the traditional commercial defense contractors and small businesses that are not currently participating in the consortium in order to exhaustively provide disruptive solutions for vehicles and robotics."
Mr. Mark Gordon, President & CEO of Stratom, Inc. serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Rick Jarman, President & CEO of the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) serves as Vice Chairman.
The Board of Directors also announced that they unanimously voted to expand their core staff, beginning with hiring Ms. Alissa Roath as Director of Operations (DOO). Ms. Roath has worked for the NAMC through its Consortium Administrative Organization since it began in 2014 and has developed, refined and managed many of the processes that have contributed to its success.
"The hiring of a full-time DOO speaks directly to the success the consortium has experienced since it formed in 2014," said Tony Melita, Executive Director of the NAMC. "The leadership views this as an investment in the consortium's future and we are grateful to have someone of Ms. Roath's caliber in the role. Under Rohe and Roath's leadership, guidance and CAN DO spirit; NAMC is in extremely good hands moving forward."
The NAMC, a non-profit 501c3 corporation, was formed in July 2014 after executing a section 815 Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The OTA covers the entire range of ground systems technologies for manned and unmanned vehicle and robotics systems. The NAMC and the OTA is available to be utilized by each of the services and is administered on the Government side by the Vehicle and Robotics Program Office (VRA PO) at TARDEC in Warren, MI.
