Mercedes-Benz Canada Sales Maintain a Steady Pace in October

TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network are pleased to report that the company maintained a steady sales pace throughout the month of October, with a total of 3,856 units sold. This result contributed to Mercedes-Benz Canada's year-to-date total of 40,466 units sold, representing a 7.8% growth over 2015.

Year-to-date, Mercedes-Benz has seen a 4.1% increase in sales of passenger cars and light trucks, for a total of 34,173 units delivered. In October, there was a notable 7.7% increase in C-Class sales within the passenger car segment. The new generation C-Class Coupe continued to generate a great deal of interest, which yielded an incredible 800% increase in sales of the model, month-over-month. The facelifted SLC and SL also maintained their upward trajectories, with month-over-month sales increases of 63.6% and 72.7% respectively.

Luxury light truck sales were up by 10.3% year-over-year, with 16,231 units sold. In October, a particularly strong showing by the GLC – 581 units delivered – contributed to the overall total of 1,623 units retailed, a 2.7% increase over the same period in 2015. Other stellar month-over-month results included a significant increase in sales of the GLE Coupe and of the G-Class.

Mercedes-Benz Vans reported 4,893 units sold year-to-date, representing a growth of 19.8% over 2015. Sprinter and Metris models performed well across the board, leading to a total of 506 units sold for a month-over-month increase of 51.5%. The Sprinter Cab Chassis remained popular, with 53 units sold representing a month-over-month increase of 82.8%.

Year-to-date, 1,400 smart fortwo vehicles have been delivered, up 125.4% over 2015.

The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported year-to-date sales of 13,565 units, up from 13,270 in 2015 for an increase of 2.2%. The C-Class continued its strong performance in the Certified Pre-Owned marketplace, echoing the New Car sales results, while demand for SUVs has never been higher.
