New MICHELIN EARTHMOVER X-Super Terrain+ to Debut on Volvo's Largest Articulated Dump Truck at MINExpo 2016

GREENVILLE, S.C., Sept. 27, 2016 --  Michelin Earthmover today announced it has introduced a new size of the MICHELIN® X®-SUPER TERRAIN + to meet demand of the new 55 metric-ton articulated dump trucks for the mine, quarry and construction industries. The new MICHELIN X-SUPER TERRAIN + 800/80R29 E4 TL** (2-star) will make its debut on Volvo's new A60H, the market's biggest articulated dump truck during MINExpo 2016, being held in Las Vegas Sept. 26-28.

"Volvo's A60H has the highest payload of any articulated truck on the market and demands tires that can carry the tremendous load," said Jamey Fish, director of earthmover marketing for Michelin North America. "Michelin has designed a tire solution in conjunction with Volvo that offers superior load-carrying capacity, speed, damage resistance and excellent traction for customers. This solution is engineered specifically for this machine, not for a scraper or any other type of equipment."

Articulated dump trucks perform in the most demanding of site conditions, and their tires need to deliver the maximum productivity, safety, longevity and durability to eliminate downtime. Tested in aggressive conditions on the Michelin proving grounds in Almeria, Spain, the MICHELIN X-SUPER TERRAIN + 800/80R29 E4 TL ** is now the biggest size in the MICHELIN X-SUPER TERRAIN+ range.
