US Army Veteran Invents Low Cost Hours of Service ELD Solution

LOVELAND, Colo., Aug. 15, 2016 -- The primary argument for electronic logging is safety. While there are counter arguments, the regulation is here, so drivers and the companies that employ them need to implement ELD's by the end of next year. Since the decision has been made, the next reasonable question is:

"How can we get the most benefit from meeting the ELD mandate?"

Geowiz.biz co-founders David Lady and Mark Rupert have studied this question at great length and have built an affordable product that follows some simple common sense rules, which can be used to evaluate the ELD solution that is best for your situation:

  1. Use a vendor that offers a single integrated solution and manufactures their own hardware and software – this prevents finger pointing and ensures that the solution is designed as a single elegant system
  2. Make sure the in-cab system hardware is both rugged and ergo dynamic – a single form factor solution that fits well into the cab is best, avoid solutions that run wires all over the place and/or that mount hardware on the heat-prone dashboard
  3. Get as many features as you can for the subscription price, and avoid solutions with hidden costs and bolt on upsell strategies – at $17 a month you should be able to get many excellent system features beyond pure ELD compliance, and beware of companies that charge a monthly subscription for the hardware instead of a low one-time cost of $50
  4. Work with good people not venture backed corporate sell outs – when evaluating products for purchase, make sure you are in contact with the folks that built the product, and make sure that you as their customer is their primary focus, not venture backers they owe money to or a profit obsessed board of directors

Following these principles, we have built Geowiz.biz from the ground up, and can offer FMCSA registered hardware and software the meets the ELD mandate and exceeds all expectations around running a profitable business. At $50 one time for the in-house manufactured plugin, and a $17 per month subscription fee, and a feature set that rivals systems that cost 10 times as much, we believe Geowiz.biz is the obvious choice for carriers across the country.
