DENSO Announces New General Manager of Remanufacturing

― Industry expert Yijun “Henry?? Peng to oversee DENSO’s remanufacturing operations ―

LONG BEACH, Calif. – DENSO Products and Services Americas, Inc., an affiliate of leading global automotive supplier DENSO Corp., has named Yijun “Henry?? Peng general manager of its remanufacturing operations in Murrieta and Long Beach, Calif. In the newly created position, Peng is responsible for overseeing all aspects of DENSO’s existing remanufacturing business, as well as its major expansion initiatives to meet growing market demand for top-quality reman products in the North America.

DENSO’s Murrieta plant specializes in the remanufacturing of starters, alternators and diesel products. In recent months, the facility has added a new supply pump product line and expanded its fuel injector performance bench test capabilities. Peng was tapped for his expertise in all facets of remanufacturing – finance, operations and technology – to manage this increasingly significant segment of DENSO’s aftermarket business.

“I am honored to join DENSO at this exciting juncture,?? said Peng, who will be responsible for all DENSO’s remanufacturing operations. “I look forward to leading our teams to grow DENSO’s aftermarket presence by expanding the supply and selection of superior reman products to customers throughout North America.??

Peng joins DENSO with nearly 15 years of experience in the automotive and financial industries. His expertise in remanufacturing includes aftermarket operations, business development, supply chain management, and strategic sourcing and planning. He previously worked for Cummins Inc., a global leader in diesel engine manufacturing, where he started as a strategic sourcing manager responsible for procurement, contracts, supplier readiness, compliance and process improvement.

Rising through the ranks, Peng was first promoted to global reliability leader heading the quality assurance team for the global sales of Cummins parts and coordinating customer service improvement programs. He then became general manager of Cummins’ remanufacturing activities in China where he oversaw business development, operations and long-term strategy; coordinated landmark remanufacturing standards for China; and helped develop core import policies and regulations between the U.S. and China. Most recently, he served as operations leader for advancing Cummins’ next generation of high-efficiency remanufacturing operations in the Americas.

Before joining Cummins, Peng was a senior consultant at two of world’s leading financial services corporations, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. At the latter, he performed audit and financial due diligence services for automotive and aviation customers.

Peng holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington where he specialized in supply chain management and finance. He earned his Bachelor of Accounting from the Nanjing University School of Business in China. He joined DENSO Products and Services Americas’ Murrieta operation Aug. 1.
