WASHINGTON, July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, Madame Tussauds Washington, DC unveiled a brand new, immersive Fourth of July Experience, where visitors can celebrate America's Independence every day of the year. At the center of the patriotic space, guests will find Uncle Sam, a never before seen figure amidst a colorful fireworks display. The star-and-stripe studded atmosphere truly helps bring our nation's favorite patriot to life and asks fans to party in the USA year round.

"We are overjoyed to bring the iconic figure of Uncle Sam home to the nation's capital as part of our immersive Fourth of July Experience," said Therese Alvich, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Washington, DC. "He is a symbol that embodies so much of America's freedom and we are certain our visitors will be eager for the chance to get up close and personal with such a beloved piece of our country's history."

The captivating new space will incorporate exciting visual effects, historical trivia, and a dress up area for fun, patriotic photos. Visitors will be swept away with reds, whites, and blues of the fiber optic fireworks illuminating the DC skyline. In the center of the exciting party will be the incredible figure of Uncle Sam. To create the wax figure, a team of Madame Tussauds Studio Artists diligently researched the image of the Uncle Sam as created by James Montgomery Flagg in 1916. This character, used to embody America and patriotism, can be found in cartoons, posters, and literature and has become instantly recognizable by all.
