Increased Visibility Now Part of CDK's Dealer Data Exchange

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., June 28, 2016 -- More than 9,000 CDK dealer customers now have a better way to keep track of potential data access-related security risks through the recently expanded capabilities of Dealer Data Exchange (DDX). CDK Global's data integration reporting tool helps dealers more easily identify access-related issues on their DMS and take action to remove non-authorized connections.

Starting this month, dealers will begin receiving monthly activity reports of non-authorized access and non-authorized software installed on their DMS that were detected by CDK.  A dedicated support team is in place to help answer data security related questions and assist dealers with taking action against these data security risks such as removing unauthorized users to help ensure their data is better protected.

"Every participant in the data ecosystem has a role to play, and CDK is providing tools, education and support to our customers," said Malcolm Thorne, chief global strategy officer at CDK Global. "We recognize that protecting customer data in our increasingly connected world requires new and comprehensive approaches. We want to provide dealers with the tools to better protect their business."

"Managing integrations is a challenging task, and DDX is helping ease the burden by providing the kind of visibility we've been asking for," said Matt Gilmore, Information Technology Director at Braman Automotive, Miami FL.

DDX is accessible by dealerships using a CDK Drive DMS and includes a full suite of reporting tools. It gives dealers the ability to view non-authorized connections, CDK managed and approved connections, enrollments in OEM and third party programs, as well as a syndication history report of data being delivered to program partners. CDK has also recently added FTP Activity reporting and DCS connection reporting, which provides a summary of incoming and outgoing transactions to OEM Dealer Communications Systems.
