(June 8) -- Sportsman champion Troy Coughlin Jr. of Team JEGS will be looking for another big pile of cash when he competes at the 11th annual Ultimate Sixty-Four Shootout presented by Racing RVs at Mt. Park Dragway. The main event takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday when many of the top bracket racers in the world put it all on the line for a $50,000 grand prize. "It's the best of the best," Coughlin said. "It's some of the most intense bracket racing you'll ever experience. The heavy hitters that come to these big-dollar races aren't messing around. They want to cut your heart out. "The pressure is what makes it so much fun. I've been fortunate enough to win five or six of these types of races, and let me tell you, when you end the day in the winner's circle with that trophy and big check, you are completely exhausted. There's no doubt you've accomplished something huge." Aside from the main event, the weekend is packed full of additional chances to score, with daily Ultimate 10 races paying $10,000 to win on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as a 64 Hi-Roller event Friday, which has an $8,000 top prize, and the Ultimate Gambler race Sunday, which also pays $8,000 to the winner. The brainchild of Randy Helton and Kelly Estes, the Ultimate Sixty-Four Shootout has crowned 10 champions in the past, including last year's winner Kenny Youngblood, Chris White, Jason Claytor, both Wes and Gary May, Brian Newport, Jason Lynch, John Cook Jr., Rob Kropfield, and Steve Royalty. "I'd love to add my name to that list," Coughlin said. "Our JEGS.com dragster has been perfect all year and I've been going rounds at every race, thanks to my crewman Justin Beaver for making this thing the best it can be. I know if I do my job as a driver, we have a chance to win every time out. This weekend will be no different. "It's a fun race when there are a bunch of special events along the way because every time you go up to the starting line there is something important happening. "Plus, Randy and Kelly make sure we all have a good time. There are golf cart drag races and live music at night. They even have a prerace golf tournament. They try to make it fun for everyone." Time runs begin at 9 a.m., Friday. Tickets are $10 per day.
