Austin, Dec. 31, 2012: Being able to say you were part of a "first" in anything is very special. Especially if it involves the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.

You can be – on March 2, when GRAND-AM visits the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas for the very first time. The inaugural event is the second on the 2013 GRAND-AM calendar and follows the signature Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Tickets for the event go on sale today and can be purchased online at www.circuitoftheamericas.com/grand-am. Priced at an affordable $59, a two-day "all-inclusive" package includes admission to all viewing areas, a reserved seat and access to garage, paddock and the popular race-day Fanwalk.

The 3.4-mile circuit recently hosted the F1 United States Grand Prix to rave reviews from fans. Several teams participated in tests this week producing a chorus of "can't waits."

"The track is beautiful, and the circuit is amazing," said Bill Auberlen, who tested BMWs in both the Rolex Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge for Turner Motorsport. "It's a real driver's course. We're going to see a fantastic race when we come back here in March."

The facility has rolled out the welcome mat – with weekend special events and activities due to be announced in the coming weeks including a free post-race concert.

"Circuit of The Americas is thrilled to welcome GRAND-AM, one of the premier sports car series in America, to its 2013 roster," said circuit Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Geoff Moore. "We're confident this will be a great addition to our calendar and provide an interactive fan experience that both new and veteran motorsport fans will enjoy."

Circuit of The Americas left nothing to chance in the design and construction of the purpose-built facility. The main grandstands, which include hospitality suites and other amenities, provide a panoramic view of the garages, pit lane and post-race podium celebrations.

Whether in the main grand stands or numerous viewing areas around the circuit, fans won't miss any of the racing action thanks to strategically-placed video screens.
