Lucas Oil Motorsports - Brand Series Release 2013 Schedule

Glen Helen, Dec. 16, 2012: Hoping to capitalize on the rapid growth it enjoyed during the 2012 racing season, Lucas Oil today announced a comprehensive new schedule for the company's Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing Series' group of grassroots, short-course events. The news comes just days after Lucas revealed next season's Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series schedule and management changes were announced at the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS).

The Lucas Oil regional off-road racing program will consist of three separate regional series for 2013. The Kartek Southern California series features three visits each to legendary Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino and the newly refurbished Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore. The Arizona series will visit Speedworld in Surprise four times; the Firebird International Raceway in Chandler and a "double points" stop at Cocopah Speedway in Yuma. The Utah series will see five Lucas events all held at world-class Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City.

As was the case in 2012, all of the series will converge for the highly-popular Lucas Oil Regional Series Shoot Out on October 11-12 at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park. This year, the event was held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and drew a record turnout of nearly 200 racers.

Designed as a platform for young talent and to offer more affordable alternative to the big show found at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, the Lucas regional concept has taken hold in the past few seasons, with 2012 representing a watershed mark in terms of entries, sponsorship and even television via the Lucas-owned MAVTV network.

While details are still being finalized, Lucas management hopes to plant its regional short-course off-road roots in Nevada as well, focusing its effort on the new Wild West Motorsports Park located just minutes from downtown Reno.
