AMSTERDAM - April 18, 2012: The Range Rover Evoque is the winner of the Women’s World Car of the Year 2012. The Evoque took the crown because it scored top point in this year’s election. The BMW 3 Series ended as the runner up in the overall score, followed by the Audi Q3.

The jury, consists of 20 female motoring writers from 12 countries world wide, among which The Netherlands (The Auto Channel’s European editor Henny Hemmes). Canada, USA, UK, Argentina, China, Japan, India, Australia and New Zealand WW COTY’s initiator Sandy Myhre). The judges voted for four classes and sent their secret-ballot votes to the international auditors and accountants Grant Thornton at their Auckland, New Zealand office.

The price is important since the female sex is the fastest growing consumer Group in the world. The Evoque did not only impress the ladies, but also captured a slew of prizes, including that of Design Car of the Year.

The prize giving will take place at the Salon de l’Automobile in Paris in September.

The Women's World Car of the Year awards are more important than ever, with the fairer sex being the fastest-growing consumer segment in the world.

The judging panel comprised female motoring writers from 12 different countries, awarding points for safety, value for money, looks, storage space, child friendliness, ease of driving, sex appeal and environmental footprint

The Evoque took the crown of supreme winner this year, scoring highly with the female judges. It's not just a hit with the ladies though, it scooped MSN Cars Car of the Year 2012 award, too.

The second and third place runners-up are the BMW 3 Series and AudiQ3
