Bob Tasca III faces Tim Wilkerson Dec. 2, 2011 in Round 1 of the Tournament of the Ovals – Ford Racing’s first-ever Fans’ Facebook Driver of the Year contest.

Drivers in each discipline were randomly paired against other Ford drivers in their discipline – so it’s NHRA vs. NHRA, NASCAR vs. NASCAR, etc. until one winner is determined from each discipline.

Drivers advance solely through fan votes, with one pair facing off each day through the month of December. The winners of the NASCAR vs. Road Racing and NHRA vs. Action Sports pairings compete in the Finals Dec. 24-31, 2011.

DEARBORN, Dec. 1, 2011: Think the 2011 season is over? Not so for Bob Tasca III. Tasca is vying for the 2011 Ford Racing Fans’ Facebook Driver of the Year title in the first-ever Tournament of the Ovals, so be ready to vote on December 2.

Ford Racing drivers from NASCAR, NHRA, road racing and action sports will face off against other drivers in their discipline to determine who will represent their sport in the semifinals on Ford Racing’s Facebook page December 22-23. The first round kicks off this week, with the Final voting Dec. 24-31, 2011.

Fans may vote once per match-up on Ford Racing’s Facebook page.

If you’re a Tasca fan, be ready to vote on December 2, when the driver of the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Mustang Funny Car will face off against none other than Tim Wilkerson, the popular driver of the Levi, Ray and Shoup Ford Mustang.

The winner of each round will be the driver who earns the most fan votes on Facebook within the 24-hour period of their round. Voting for each round will be held from 12 a.m. ET to 11:59 p.m. ET, with the winner moving on to the next round.

The competition is fierce and there’s a new match each day, so don’t delay.
