National Auto Sport Association (NASA) FL Region Race

September 3-4 at 7am

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) has created racing programs that accommodate all sorts of popular vehicles with rules that encourage aftermarket modification. NASA has a class for almost any type of vehicle ranging from Production Sedans, Stock Cars to Formula Cars. This weekend at Palm Beach International Raceway, NASA is hosting the High Performance Driving Event (HPDE), NASA Time Trails and NASA Racing. Spectators are free all day Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 until noon. Spectator admission on Sunday from noon until 5pm is $10, children 12 and under are free. Outlaw Drag Racing

Sunday, September 4 at noon

Check out some of the quickest cars and head-to-head competition during Palm Beach International Raceway’s Outlaw Street Drags. Gates open at noon; racing runs until 6pm. Grudge racing at its finest with no scoreboards – first to the finish line wins. Race entry is $25. VIP Parking is $25. Crew and spectator prices are $10 and children 12 and under are free.

Two Wheel Tuesdays

September 6 at 5pm

No motor? No problem? For two Tuesdays in September, race cars will not be permitted on the road course at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR). Instead, the two-mile road course is open and available to non-motorized modes of transportation as the south Florida track hosts Two Wheel Tuesdays. A different style of performance, power and speed will be the featured activity on September 6 as PBIR implements the motor-less event. Cyclists, runners and rollerbladers will be the only modes of transportation allowed on the two-mile, 11-turn track. Admission to Two Wheel Tuesdays is $5 per entry. Gates open at 5pm and close at 9pm

Sports Car Driving Experience

September 8-9 at 7am

Sports Car Driving Experience (SCDE) Racing Schools teaches competition dynamics and car control with a combination of classroom and on-track sessions. Gain expertise through slalom, braking and heel-and-toe exercises taught by professional racing instructors. Students use Corvettes (C5s, C6s, and Z06s) to drive on PBIR’s road course. All racing school cars are equipped with in-car camera to further critique and perfect your race car driving skills off the track. Gates open at 7am. Midnight Madness

September 9 at 6pm

The ninth installment of the 2011 Midnight Madness at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) is scheduled to hit the track on Friday, September 9 from 6pm-1am. In a two-fold event, test and tuners take to PBIR’s quarter-mile drag strip while amateur drifters help transform PBIR’s road course into a drifting circuit. Drag racers looking for the ultimate challenge can participate in the ‘Beat the Heat’ segment of the Test and Tune. Bring your favorite street machine to PBIR and challenge a police officer in the Beat the Heat Challenge. The program is dedicated to keep racing on the strip and off the streets. Drifting entry is $50; Test and Tune entry is $25. Spectator and crew prices for Midnight Madness are $10 and children 12 and under are free.

IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Super Series Points Race

September 10 at 4pm

The monthly points races for prizes and bragging rights continues with the IHRA Summit Super Series Points race. Gates open at 4pm, time runs are at 5:30pm, and eliminations begin at 7pm. Hooked on Driving

September 10 at 7am

Hooked On Driving brings its high performance driving program, known as a high performance driving experience (HPDE), or high performance driving school (HPDS) to Palm Beach International Raceway. Hooked on Driving provides drivers of high performance cars and sports cars the opportunity to drive their cars on a race track with driving coaches. Gates open at 7am; sessions run until 5pm. Fun Ford Weekend

September 17 at 8am

Palm Beach International Raceway joins the Blue Oval brigade on Saturday, September 17, for the inaugural Fun Ford Weekend presented by Roush Yates and JE Pistons. Fun Ford Weekend paints PBIR Ford Blue on Saturday, September 17.

During this unique one-day show, Ford devotees can explore the grounds and experience elements of the Michigan-based automotive giant. For the racing fan, the drag strip will showcase numerous categories including Quick Ford (Electronic), Fast Ford (Non-Electronic), True Street (DOT), Four-Door Frenzy, Tough Trucks, Mustang Madness and Compact. The one-day show will also feature special exhibition runs from the first Ford to reach 200 miles per hour in competition - Jim “Animal” Feurer, driver of the Championship Pro Stock Legendary Mammoth 700 Boss-engined 79 Mercury Zephyr (Zeke) and David Douthit, driver of the powerful Ford Focus Jet Car.

Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) SOLO Autocross

Sunday, September 18 at 8am

Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) presents SOLO Autocross on the north end of PBIR’s road course. SOLO is the SCCA brand name for autocross competition. Solo events are driving skill contests that emphasize the driver's ability and the car's handling characteristics. This is accomplished by driving a course that is designated by traffic cones on a low hazard location. While speeds are no greater than those normally encountered in legal highway driving, the combination of concentration and car feedback creates an adrenaline pumping experience. Gates open at 8am and on-track activity runs from 9am to 5pm. Advanced ticket sales only - participant tickets are $35 and available at dlbracing. Spectators are free.

Take a break from watching the races and get behind the wheel at MRP Motorsport at Palm Beach International Raceway. The unique 11-turn, 8/10 mile kart track offers all the versatility and flexibility needed for pros and amateurs alike. One of the smoothest driving courses around, the track features full lighting and is a Sanctioned Master Track by the World Karting Association. Go Kid Racing

Weekly on Sundays

On Sunday, MRP Motorsport will host the “Go Kid Racing kart school from 9am to 11:30am. Aspiring racers ages five to nine learn the fundamentals of karting with classroom and on-track instruction. Fees for children are $150 and advanced registration is required. For more info, visit mrpmotorsport.

Quarter-Mile Test and Tune

Weekly on Wednesday and Fridays

Palm Beach International Raceway hosts the weekly Test and Tune. Held on PBIR’s all-concrete drag strip, the Test and Tune is open to all makes and models. Bring your favorite drag car to PBIR and see what it can run in the quarter-mile. Gates open at 6pm. Test and Tune entry is $25, crew and spectator prices are $10 and children 12 and under are free.
