AUSTIN, July 6, 2011: Two of the biggest names in music are excited to to come to Circuit of The Americas to entertain fans in 2012. Lyle Lovett, one of Texas’ most celebrated recording artists, and the great Willie Nelson, perhaps the best-known and most popular singer/ songwriter in the world have, both told Circuit of The Americas executives of their willingness to perform at the new entertainment and motor sports destination currently under construction southeast of Austin.

“Circuit of The Americas sounds like it will be a world class facility in one of the best places in the world for music,” said Mr. Lovett.

Along with being the world’s newest purpose-built track for motor sports, Circuit of The Americas is designed as an entertainment destination. The Grand Plaza, to be fully developed in the second phase of the master plan, is envisioned as an outdoor live music space where acts from around the world will entertain fans during race weekends and between race events. Mr. Nelson said, “I'm looking forward to playing at the F1 track. Sounds like a great new venue.” “We couldn’t be more pleased to have these early commitments from two icons in the music industry,” said Steve Sexton, president of Circuit of The Americas. “Austin is the ‘Live Music Capital of the World,’ and Circuit of The Americas will soon be supporting that idea by serving as a great new venue in the city.”

Along with headliner acts, a monthly music series is also being arranged on the 2012 calendar similar to the popular ‘Blues on the Green’ series. Organizers believe this will be especially attractive to nearby residents who can make Circuit of The Americas a regular part of their weekly entertainment choices.
