Up And Coming Driver Personalities - Seventeen Magazine Features Shannon McIntosh

NEW YORK, July 6, 2011: Seventeen, the iconic fashion and beauty magazine for 13 million teen girls each month, today announced that USF2000 Mazda Road to Indy driver Shannon McIntosh would be featured in the Hearst publication's August issue, on newsstands Tuesday, July 5.

"Being part of the first ever Pretty Amazing real girl cover contest with Seventeen magazine has already been so humbling," said McIntosh, who just returned from the magazine's New York City headquarters. "I didn't realize the full scope of what I was apart of until I was in New York City at the photoshoot and now, getting a page in the August issue of the magazine is icing on the cake."

Announced in late May 2011 as one of five finalists-out of 35,000-for the cover of Seventeen's October Pretty Amazing real girl cover issue, McIntosh would also be awarded a check for $10,000 from NeutrogenaŽ should she win.

The 21-year-old Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing driver returned just last week from a whirlwind trip to NYC where she walked the red carpet at the Neutrogena Wave for Change luncheon, received a makeover, photo shoot, and face time with actress Miranda Cosgrove, celebrity blogger Jared Eng of justjared.com, and Seventeen magazine editor-and-chief Ann Shokets.

Should McIntosh win the cover of Seventeen's October issue, she would be the first athlete to grace the magazine's cover since Olympian Dorothy Hamill's 1976 iconic cover.

Shannon McIntosh is a 21-year-old autoracing driver who competes in INDYCAR's 'Mazda Road to Indy' USF2000 National Championship Series for Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing, the most successful team at that level.
