KYLE, May 13, 2011: In an effort to help children lead happier, healthier lives, Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) will unite with other race tracks all over the country for a NASCAR Day: Car Wash for Kids, a NASCAR Unites national fundraiser engaging motorsports tracks, charities and organizations with the goal of raising $1 million for children’s charities.

The local Car Wash for Kids will be held on Friday, May 20, at Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) from 12P (noon) until 6P.

“Thunderhill Raceway is proud to be a part of this united effort for children’s causes,” said Mary Ann Naumann, Thunderhill Raceway’s Owner/Promoter. “This event is a great way for fans and local residents to come out, see our venue and participate in a record-setting fundraising effort.”

Funds raised through NASCAR Unites on NASCAR Day: Car Wash for Kids will benefit The NASCAR Foundation and Hope & Love 4 Kids, a local non-profit organization.

The NASCAR Foundation is committed to children’s causes and, through the NASCAR Unites campaign, has vowed to raise $1 million and generate over a million volunteer hours in 2011. Hope & Love 4 Kids is a local organization that helps children in our community by providing basic necessities, comforting them in their time of need and uplifting them through service and outreach.

For a $10 donation, attendees will receive a car wash and a NASCAR Unites wrist band. NASCAR Unites’ wrist bands encourage fans to do a good deed and pay it forward. A “dry off” lap around the race track will also be given to each of the car wash participants.

NASCAR Unites on NASCAR Day: Car Wash for Kids will be NASCAR Day’s eighth charitable celebration. To date, NASCAR Day has raised more than $8 million for The NASCAR Foundation, sending more than 500 kids to Victory Junction, treating more than 19,000 pediatric patients annually at Speediatrics units and granted more than 500 NASCAR-themed wishes.
