TALLADEGA, April 14, 2011: Sean Corr, driver of the No. 82 Empire Racing LLC Ford Fusion is getting antsy about tomorrow’s 3 Amigos 250 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway after his team led by new crew chief Howard Bixman made some significant gains from the recent open-test session last month.

Corr, the Goshen New York native clicked off the 22nd fastest lap time at 52.989 seconds or 180.717 miles per hour. While the team admitted that they wished that their silver Ford Fusion was a little higher on the rundown; they were pleased with the initial gains they made during the three-hour practice.

“We’re going in the right direction and that’s a good thing,” offered Corr. “We’re still making some adjustments but overall, the improvements we made from the start of practice to the end of practice made a big difference.”

After a solid 15th place outing in the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, the family-owned team is seeking their first top-10 finish in Friday’s second and final restrictor plate race of the season. Corr feels that his team can pull off that goal.

“Our car is much better than Daytona,” he offered. “John (Bellesfield, team manager), Howard (Bixman, crew chief) and everyone on this Empire Racing team have really given nothing less than 100 percent over the last two weeks or so other than focusing on getting our No. 82 Empire Racing Ford Fusion fast. Hopefully, tomorrow we can have a good finish that will further propel our team in the championship standings.”

Before the race take the green flag on Friday, the team will make a “booming” announcement.
