ATLANTA, Apr. 13, 2011: Hot sunshine and the hottest-ever Kentucky Speedway action will have race fans working up a thirst during the 2011 season as they cheer on their favorite NASCAR and open-wheel drivers.

Thanks to a new five-year partnership with Coca-Cola North America, the Official Soft Drink of NASCAR, Coca-Cola, has become the exclusive non-alcoholic beverage provider to Kentucky Speedway and will refresh its fans’ hard-working thirst each time they visit the 106,000-capacity Speedway Motorsports, Inc.,(SMI) facility in Sparta, Ky.

“NASCAR fans and race fans around the world want the best – the best cars, the best drivers, the best tracks and the best refreshments. Through our new partnership, Kentucky Speedway fans will enjoy the best of everything,” Ben Reiling, Director, Motorsports, Coca-Cola North America. “As we continue to expand our product availability at more tracks on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, we’re ensuring that millions of race fans can Open Happiness when enjoying a Coca-Cola at the venues they love.”

Coca-Cola and Kentucky Speedway will team to create a series of entertainment and promotional programs designed to enhance the fan experience while generating exposure for the venue’s six-event, two-weekend 2011 season.

The speedway’s historic NASCAR Sprint Cup Series campaign opens with tripleheader weekend featuring a 225-mile NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event July 7, continues with the July 8 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) “Feed The Children 300” and culminates with the inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) “Quaker State 400” July 9. Racing returns to the speedway Oct. 1 with the NCWTS ‘UNOH 225” and Oct. 2 with a 300-mile IZOD IndyCar Series event along with a 100-mile Firestone Indy Lights (FIL) sprint race.

Kentucky Speedway and Coca-Cola will introduce their new partnership to fans by delivering a buy-one, get-one-free ticket offer redeemable for either the July NCWTS or NNS races to those who purchase specially-marked 20-can multipacks of Coca-Cola. Multipacks will be on store shelves in Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio as well as in Lexington and Louisville, Ky., beginning June 1, 2011.

“Our Coca-Cola partnership once again illustrates the national momentum being created by our inaugural Sprint Cup Series event,” Kentucky Speedway General Manager Mark Simendinger said. “The Coca-Cola brand possesses a storied track record of creating innovative and productive sports partnerships in NASCAR and worldwide. We’re pleased Coca-Cola and its vast experience will be supporting our venue and events.”

With the new Kentucky Speedway association, Coca-Cola products are now available at 19 of 23 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series tracks including SMI facilities in Atlanta, Charlotte, Loudon, N.H., Ft. Worth, Texas, Las Vegas, and Sonoma, Calif.

Coca-Cola has been involved with stock car racing for more than 40 years. A signature part of Coca-Cola’s NASCAR program is the Coca-Cola Racing Family – a group of top drivers that includes Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, Kurt Busch, Jeff Burton, Denny Hamlin, Bobby Labonte, Joey Logano, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart. The Coca-Cola 600, held annually at Charlotte Motor Speedway, is the longest continuous race sponsorship in NASCAR. The July 2 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series “Coke Zero 400” at Daytona International Speedway will precede Kentucky Speedway’s “Quaker State 400.”
