Madison, Mar, 11, 2011: As Level 5 Motorsports teammates Scott Tucker, Christophe Bouchut and Luis Diaz embark on their quest for an international sports car racing championship, Swiss watch manufacturer Alpina Geneve has joined the effort as the team’s Official Timekeeper. “Since day one, we have set out to mount a first-class effort toward winning a World Championship,” said team owner / driver Scott Tucker. “We’ve surrounded ourselves with the world’s best technical partners, proven crew members and championship drivers. With Alpina Geneve we’ve found another great partner that shares our vision for excellence.”

Alpina Watches is no stranger to sports car racing as one of their signature lines is named after the 12 Hours of Sebring, one of North America’s most famous and enduring sports car races.

“We’ve been involved in sports car racing for some time now,” said Ralph Simons, Commercial Director of Alpina Watch International SA. “To be associated with a trio of drivers that exemplify professionalism and the pursuit of greatness is a natural fit for our brand and ensures continuity of our globally oriented involvement in motorsports.”

The Level 5 Motorsports teammates have been making headlines already in 2011 on the heels of Tucker’s American Le Mans Series LMPC Championship in 2010. The team will make the leap to the LMP2 category in the ALMS as well as compete for the ILMC.

“We’re really looking forward to working with Alpina Geneve as the team races for a world championship,” said Brian Weaver, CEO of Anthem Media Group, who developed the sponsorship platform. “Their internationally recognized brand is a natural fit for our drivers whose success depends on precision and accuracy in every move they make.”

Alpina plans to use their relationships with the Level 5 drivers as part of an active promotional platform for its successful Racing-collection, aimed at a younger, sports-oriented and fashion conscious target audience. Alpina has established a growing network of more than 350 exclusive watch retailers and an aggressive communications plan involving global PR, advertising and events. In addition, the company’s social media efforts boast a healthy 55,000 Facebook fans — a following that continues to grow on a daily basis.

The season begins for both the ILMC and ALMS with the 12 Hours of Sebring, March 19, 2011. The event will be broadcasted on ESPN with extended coverage on ABC. Throughout the year, Level 5 will be racing at important events in North America, Belgium, France, Italy, UK and China.
