"The chief instructor at the time was Derek Bell, and he took me in a brand new Turbo and showed me where I was going wrong", commented Cloar. "It was a very valuable learning experience from one of my favorite drivers. I have been able to carry forward everything I learned that day which makes racing in a competitive series such a thrill."

Since then, Cloar has participated in numerous Driving Experience events, become instructor with the Porsche Club of America (PCA) and started racing the Cayman S in the Historic Sportscar Racing series (HSR). He has also done National Auto Sport Association (NASA) time trials in a Stohr sports racer.
