Oil refineries sue EPA over e15 ethanol plan

AUTO CENTRAL – January 4, 2010: On Monday The National Petrochemical and Refiners Association joined the rest of the gasoline whores who oppose any attempt to end “gasoline addiction” and the economic depression by filing suit against the EPA’s decision to allow the sale of gasoline containing higher blends of corn-based ethanol. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

The earlier lawsuit was filed November 9, 2010, by a so-called diverse coalition of farm and food trade associations. TheAutoChannel.com’s report on the lawsuit and examination of the claims made by several of the group’s members were set forth in our story titled "GASOLINE WHORES FILE FRIVOLOUS LAWSUIT IN ATTEMPT TO DERAIL AMERICAN ENERGY INDEPENDENCE".

The Auto Channel stands behind its position that that action is completely without merit and that it’s purely a move designed to benefit enemies of our country. We belive that the comment made by Charles T. Drevna, the NPRA's president, that the EPA had "acted unlawfully in its rush to allow a 50 percent increase in the amount of ethanol in gasoline without adequate testing and without following proper procedures" is ignorant and baseless. Looking at the historical record and world wide experience of use, ethanol engine fuel may be the most tested and proven engine fuel there is. It is safer and less expensive than gasoline and can be domestically abundant.

Faced with rising oil and gasoline prices, along with the new specter of seeing American regular gasoline prices hitting $5 per gallon and more, we believe the action by The National Petrochemical and Refiners Association is particularly egregious.

The fact of the matter is that domestically produced ethanol should be mandated to replace all gasoline used in all American gasoline-powered motor vehicles. For additional information please click on the story links below:
