MADISON, October 19, 2010: Race fans will have the opportunity to walk Gateway International Raceway’s 1.25-mile oval along with NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Saturday morning immediately following qualifying for the 5-Hour Energy 250, scheduled for later that afternoon.

For a minimum donation of $20 to the United Way, NASCAR loyalists can walk the same track where drivers such as Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, and Reed Sorenson have earned NNS victories.

“United Way is proud to partner with Gateway International Raceway on the track walk,” said Missy Churchman, United Way of Greater St. Louis-Illinois Region vice president. “The funds raised from this event will help fund nearly 200 local health and human service agencies. We are grateful to Gateway International Raceway for this opportunity and for their commitment to the community.”

In addition to walking the track, meeting NASCAR drivers, and helping a great cause, fans will be able to say good-bye to Gateway by signing a section of the frontstretch wall.

For ticket information on the 5-Hour Energy 250 as well as a full schedule of this weekend’s activities, visit GatewayRaceway.com or call 866-35-SPEED.

Race fans can follow all the action throughout the season at Gateway International Raceway on its official Twitter site at Twitter.com/GatewayRaceway and its official page on Facebook, Facebook.com/GatewayRaceway.
