As Official Automotive Sponsor, Jaguar Delivers Fashion's Biggest Names to 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City

MAHWAH, N.J., June 7 -- Jaguar Cars is pleased to announce its new role as the official automotive sponsor of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards. This partnership pairs the legendarily stylish automotive brand with the CFDA on the night of its annual awards ceremony, widely regarded as the fashion industry's biggest night. This represents a signature moment in Jaguar's City Takeover campaign, a multi-city marketing effort fashioned around the sleek Jaguar 2011 XJ.

The 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony will take place on June 7, 2010, at the famed Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City. Numerous fashion luminaries and Hollywood stars will arrive at the event in the Jaguar XJ, which was recently tabbed by the Wall Street Journal as the "hottest cat on the road."

"The 2011 Jaguar XJ will make its runway debut at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City, arriving at the industry's biggest night with some of the world's most important tastemakers," said Stuart Schorr, vice president of communications for Jaguar North America. "Along with fashion designs, car designs are the most visible expressions of a person's style and personality. Like some of the most timeless fashion icons being celebrated at the CFDAs, the new Jaguar XJ's design stands apart by being dramatic, dynamic and elegant at the same time."

In addition to providing bespoke car service for the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards nominees and presenters, the 2011 Jaguar XJ will also be featured in a short film highlighting this year's nominees for Accessory Designer of the Year. This year's nominees are Marc Jacobs, Alexis Bittar and Lazaro Hernandez & Jack McCollough for Proenza Schouler.

The 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards sponsorship is a part of a larger Jaguar initiative: the City Takeover. Jaguar's City Takeover is a national marketing campaign currently running in Los Angeles and New York and taking place this fall in Miami. The 2011 XJ is serving as the centerpiece of multiple high-profile events, outdoor advertising, sequential communications blitzes, branded entertainment initiatives and brand partnerships. Since the campaign's beginning, the 2011 XJ has been featured in more than 1,600 video displays, large-scale building wraps and billboards, on a new television advertising campaign and in Jay-Z's music video, "On to the Next One."
