Spending, for the sake of spending, will not make the depression go away. Giving money to Wall Street firms and banks that do nothing with it, other than the same things they did to get them into trouble, is a waste of our tax dollars. The money must be spent on positive programs that develop the new products and new technologies (and jobs) that will fuel economic growth.

Just talking about energy improvements and improved fuel economy won’t make it happen; there’s too much money behind those in the oil industry (foreign and domestic) to allow it. We need strong government mandates to force the issue, as if we are at war; and make no mistake about it, the public's best interest is at war with the oil/gasoline industry.

Gasoline consumption must be radically reigned in. The good news is that it can be done without damaging what’s left of our economy. We don’t need gasoline, and we don’t have to wait years for the “right” batteries or the electric vehicles that efficiently use them. The solution is at hand…now. Read this plan to learn how:
