ALLSTATE 400 AT THE BRICKYARD NOTEBOOK

ESPN and the IMS Radio Network once again will provide extensive live television and radio coverage of on-track action at the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Race Day TV coverage on the ESPN networks starts with “NASCAR Now” at 10 a.m. (ET) Sunday, July 27 on ESPN2. Coverage shifts to ESPN at 1 p.m. with the pre-race show, “NASCAR Countdown,” and flag-to-flag race coverage starts at 2 p.m. on ESPN.

Qualifying coverage starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26 on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com, which also will feature practice coverage at 2 p.m. that day.

ESPN2 and ESPN360.com will offer NASCAR Sprint Cup practice coverage at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 25.

ESPN’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard coverage team will feature two-time Brickyard winner Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree as booth analysts, along with lead announcer Dr. Jerry Punch. Former championship crew chief Tim Brewer will report from the Tech Center, and Dave Burns, Jamie Little, Mike Massaro and Shannon Spake will report from the pits.

Former NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Rusty Wallace will join Ray Evernham, Brad Daugherty and host Allen Bestwick for “NASCAR Countdown.”

Race Day radio coverage will start on the IMS Radio Network at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 27 with a one-hour pre-race show. Live race coverage starts at 2 p.m.

The IMS Radio Network will cover qualifying at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, with a one-hour qualifying wrap-up show at 5 p.m. that day. A one-hour Allstate 400 at the Brickyard preview will be aired on the IMS Radio Network from 5-6 p.m. Friday, July 25.

The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard radio broadcast also will be available on Sirius Satellite Radio’s NASCAR channel and on the Web at NASCAR.com. A Spanish-language version of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard coverage also will be broadcast in Indianapolis on WEDJ-FM 107.1.

In addition to coverage all across America, the IMS Radio Network’s broadcast of the race will be available around the globe. LeSea Broadcasting will provide coverage via short-wave radio.

The 2008 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard program includes event schedules, driver biographies and feature stories. Selected stories include features Allstate 400 at the Brickyard champion Tony Stewart and the Prelude to the Dream, the famous dirt track race that Stewart conducts every year at Eldora Speedway.

Also included are features about whether prior experience at IMS matters in the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, with extensive comments from current NASCAR drivers and past Indianapolis 500 champions Sam Hornish Jr. and Juan Pablo Montoya, 1996 and 1999 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard champion Dale Jarrett’s move to the broadcast booth, and NASCAR legends such as Richard Petty and Junior Johnson discussing their thoughts about racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Tickets: Tickets are on sale for the 2008 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, scheduled for Sunday, July 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Parking and camping information also can be obtained through the ticket office.

General admission Race Day access is available for the first time at this event through an IMS General Admission Season Ticket. The season ticket provides gate admission for a combined six days over the two remaining events this season at IMS, the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard and the Red Bull Indianapolis GP, for just $120.
