DEARBORN, MI - June 30, 2008: The third annual Automotive Hall of Fame Classic, an exhibition limited to about 30 superior automobiles, will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Michigan. "The GM Century: The Men. The Machines." will feature only General Motors vehicles in celebration of the company's centennial.

"General Motors turns one hundred years old this year, a feat very few companies achieve," said Automotive Hall of Fame President Jeffrey Leestma. "And in the course of those hundred years, GM has produced more than its share of automotive pioneers and leaders who have shaped the global motor vehicle industry. Our goal is to match these great GM people with the great GM automobiles of their respective eras."

Since 1967, the Automotive Hall of Fame has inducted over 30 individuals with GM ties; men like Charles Kettering, Alfred P. Sloan, Billy Durant, Ransom Olds, Louis Chevrolet, David Buick, Charles Nash, Harley Earl, Zora Arkus-Duntov, and Bill Mitchell.

"Trying to represent a century's worth of GM products with just 30 cars is literally impossible," adds Leestma, "and we'll probably have to exceed that number somewhat. Yet, we will have GM automobiles from every decade and almost every GM brand, including Oakland, Vauxhall, LaSalle and Opel." Visitors will see some of the most significant GM nameplates, like Riviera, BelAir, DeVille, Impala, Corvette, Electra, Toronado, Cutlass, TransAm, GTO, Camaro, Bonneville and many more. And to cap off a hundred years of memorable vehicles, the new Chevrolet Camaro Concept will be displayed inside the Automotive Hall of Fame for the day of the show only.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the programs of the Automotive Hall of Fame. The show will be open to the public from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Admission is $5 and includes access to the car show as well as the Automotive Hall of Fame museum. Children under 12 are free.

The Automotive Hall of Fame is located at 21400 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn, adjacent to the Henry Ford Museum. For more information, call 888-29-VISIT, or 313-240-4000.
