TEAM REPORTS (DAYTONA, FLA.) - LEFLER DAYTONA ADVANCE

PHOTO (select to view enlarged photo)

· In eight NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Daytona, Leffler has logged four top-10 finishes, finishing outside the top-20 only once. His best performance occurred in the 2006 season opener when he posted a sixth place finish after starting 24th. He has completed 888/ 889 possible laps.

· Leffler has proved to be a strong qualifier at Daytona, starting inside the top-10 on four occasions. Last year, Leffler started the No. 38 Great Clips Toyota from the outside pole in the season opener and returned in July to capture the #1 starting spot. In addition, he also has one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series pole to his credit (2003).

Leffler Expecting Strong 2008 Season with New Crew Chief, Stewart Cooper

“Stewart has been around the garage for a long time and he has seen the changes the sport has gone through over the last several years. He's done a really, really good job for us during the winter to get everything organized and on the right track for 2008. I feel that he is a really positive addition to the Braun Racing family. To contend for the championship, you need to have consistency and I think having Stewart Cooper on board is really going to help us with that. The entire Great Clips team is looking forward to kicking the season off here at Daytona, and hopefully, we'll kick it off in Victory Lane”

Leffler on Racing at Daytona

“Restrictor plate racing is a lot of fun but at the same time it’s also very mentally challenging. Anything can happen in an instant so you have to be aware of everything going on around you at all times. You are constantly making decisions, which groove to jump in, who to draft with, etc. Having a good spotter at Daytona and Talladega is extremely important. They see the race from a completely different vantage point and are able to see how the race is playing out. As a driver, you have to trust the information they give you and go where they tell you to go, without question.

The outcome of a restrictor plate race rarely comes down to who has the best car. Luck is really a big factor because you are at the mercy of the 42 other cars on the track. Generally, if you can avoid the big wrecks and keep your fenders on you should come away with a top-10 finish. Unfortunately, it’s a lot easier said than done here at Daytona.”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will compete with chassis #004 in this weekend’s Camping World 300. This is the same chassis Leffler ran at both Daytona races in 2007, starting second and finishing 22nd in February and starting from the pole and finishing ninth in July.
