Penske Racing's Ryan Briscoe will compete in his first Petit Le Mans this year.

No first-year driver in the American Le Mans Series has found as much success this year as Penske Racing's Ryan Briscoe. The Australian Porsche factory driver already has scored three victories in LMP2 including overall wins at Salt Lake City and Lime Rock Park in the Porsche RS Spyder he shares with veteran Sascha Maassen. Young, dynamic and quick, Briscoe is eager for his first crack at Road Atlanta and Petit Le Mans, which celebrates its 10th running this year.

A first time for everything: "I'm really excited. I hear good things about the track and the event. Doing a 1,000-mile race is always exciting; it always is when you do longer races. We'll have an extra driver in the car which just adds to the excitement. So we're really looking forward to it."

Friendly confines: "The track is fantastic and I'm looking forward to testing there before the race. It should be another track that suits our Porsche RS Spyder and hopefully we can come away with another nice win at Petit Le Mans."

The 10th running of Petit Le Mans, the annual 1,000-mile/10-hour endurance classic at Road Atlanta, is set for 11:15 a.m. ET on Saturday, October 6. SPEED will provide live coverage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 6:30 to 10 p.m. American Le Mans Radio and IMSA's Live Timing and Scoring will be available at americanlemans.com.
