Volkswagen will introduce two models, Eos and Tiguan, to the Chinese market, a senior Volkswagen (China) official announced recently.

The convertible Eos is developed on the PQ35 platform, on which Golf, Audi 3 and Audi TT are built, and Eos shares some auto parts with Passat B6. Currently the convertible is sold at $28,110 (RMB 210,000) in the U.S. market.

Convertible Eos is a modified model based on Cabrio (Golf convertible). This model made its first debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2005, and made its China debut in Beijing Auto Show last year.

There are two kinds of engines for alternatives: 2.0L TFSI and 3.2L V6 engines.

Tiguan will make its debut in the coming Auto Show in Frankfurt next month, the company said. As a compact SUV, Tiguan is the second SUV model developed by the group. Tiguan is a PQ35 platform-based developed model, and powered by 1.4TSI engine. This is the first time that VW installs TSI engines on SUV models.

The company currently has no plan to make the two models locally in China, according to the company announcement.
