Tickets on Sale for Barrington Concours D' Elegance

Automobile industry's rare, historic, classic, sports and performance cars on exhibit for first time in Chicagoland area Sept. 14 - 16

BARRINGTON, Ill., Aug. 15 -- Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Barrington Concours D' Elegance, scheduled for Sept. 16, 2007, in Barrington, Ill.

The Barrington Concours D' Elegance: Legends & Legacies celebrates automotive history and will feature nearly 100 historic automobiles. All proceeds benefit Barrington Hills Conservation Trust, Cowboy Dreams of Illinois and Hospice of Northeastern Illinois. The founding sponsors of the Barrington Concours are Motor Werks of Barrington and the event host, Makray Memorial Golf Club.

VIP tickets for the Barrington Concours can be purchased in advance for $75, or on Sept. 16, for $80. General admission tickets can be purchased in advance for $25 or on Sept. 16 for $30. At the web site, automobile collectors and fans can also register to drive in Saturday's Road Rally through the Barrington countryside. Participation is open to all drivers with a valid driver's license. The fee to participate is $125.

"We've attracted the country's finest automobiles to Sunday's juried show, many of which have never been shown in the Chicago area," said Mary Bradford-White, an event organizer and president of Barrington Hills Conservation Trust. "Chicagoans have a unique opportunity to not only see these vehicles, but to drive in the Road Rally and support local charities."

At the Barrington Concours, attendees can view cars from pre and post World War II, 1950s classics and newer models from a variety of well-known luxury auto manufacturers. Confirmed exhibitors include:

  -- 1923 Rolls-Royce Twenty Doctor's Coupe

  -- 1937 Delahaye 135 M Cabriolet by Figoni & Falaschi  (founding
     exhibitor)

  -- 1938 Talbot-Lago T-23 Tear Drop Coupe

  -- 1939 Bugatti T57-C Drop Head Convertible

  -- 1940 Buick 81-C Limited Model Phaeton

  -- 1950 K2 Allard Roadster

  -- 1972 All-American Racers "Gurney Eagle"

The Barrington Concours weekend will be hosted by Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington. Additional sponsors include Comcast, the Daily Herald, MJ Miller & Company, Northern Trust, Quintessential Barrington Magazine, The Village of Barrington and WBBM radio.

      * Shot Gun Golf Tournament at Makray Memorial Golf Club, 1010 S.
        Northwest Highway, Barrington, 8 a.m.
      * Road Rally throughout the Barrington area countryside (must be a
        registered contestant to participate.) 7:30 a.m. start at Barrington
        train station for participants
          -- Road Rally from 9:30 am to 12 p.m.
          -- Lunch and awards ceremony from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
          -- As part of the Rally, Barrington Hills Polo Club will host a
             match on its grass field, Deepwood Lane, west of Bateman Road,
             Barrington Hills

  -- Sun., Sept. 16, 2007

      * Exhibit open for public viewing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Makray,
        1011 S. Northwest Highway, Barrington
      * Porsche of North America will present "Ride & Drive," an opportunity
        to test drive your favorite model, at Makray.
      * Book signing by Michael Furman, at Makray

  -- Week-long events
      * Artist/photographer Michael Furman at various outlets.
      * Laura DeNillo showings at various outlets.
