Big Win, Big Season: UGS PLM Software Helps Andretti Green Racing Win the Indy 500 and Hendrick Motorsports Win Nine of the Last 10 Points Races

PLANO, Texas--UGS PLM Software, a division of Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced UGS PLM Software-sponsored racing teams Andretti Green Racing and Hendrick Motorsports whose cars are developed with the help of UGS PLM Software technology won the IndyCar® Series Indy 500® and the NASCAR® NEXTEL Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 respectively.

Andretti Green Racing driver Dario Franchitti, winner of 15 major open-wheel races since 1998, won the Indy 500 to claim his third career IndyCar Series victory. The win moved Franchitti into third place in the IndyCar Series driver championship, three points out of the lead.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Casey Mears win at Charlotte, was his first in Cup Series competition and the fifth consecutive win for Hendrick Motorsports, bringing the total to nine of the last 10 point races this season.
