Robert Woerner Appointed Regional General Manager, Western Region for Mercedes-Benz USA

MONTVALE, N.J., April 16 -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today announced the appointment of Robert Woerner to regional general manager of the company's western region, effective April 15, 2007. In his new position, Woerner will be responsible for all sales, service, marketing, operations and dealer relations for the company's western region located in Irvine, CA. Woerner replaces Michael Slagter who was recently promoted to vice president, sales at MBUSA's Montvale, NJ headquarters.

Woerner, who has been with MBUSA for six years, was most recently regional operations manager for the company's Chicago region. He joined MBUSA as a market manager in the Denver area in April 2001 and subsequently moved to the Chicago region as franchise development manager.

A 21-year veteran of the automotive industry, Woerner has also worked for Toyota Motor Sales and Nissan Motor Corporation. Prior to joining the auto industry in 1986, he worked for various oil field service companies in the western and southwestern U.S.

A graduate of Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA, with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration in 1979, Woerner is married and the father of two daughters. He and his family plan to relocate to the Orange County area.
