Valley of Speed All Revved Up for 55th Season

New Lebanon, NY - The management and staff at Lebanon Valley Speedway are
putting the final touches on what is set to be an action packed 55th season
of Dirt Car Racing.
Howard Commander’s legendary High Banks is getting down to the final stages
of finalizing the 2007 schedule which will include plenty of racing for all
tastes, including plenty of special events that will continue to peak
everyone’s interests.
“There will be a lot of new and different promotions and events for 2007”
mentioned General Manager Lyle Devore. “And once we get all of our ducks in
a row, probably within the next week or so, the full 2007 schedule we be
released”, he added.
The famed ˝ mile high banked oval tagged the Valley of Speed is set to open
its doors on Saturday April 14th, 2007 for the 55th time. Opening night is
set to include the beginning of the Modified Points Season, as well as the
Pro Stocks, Limited Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks.
The opening night festivities brought to you by L&M Motors, Heavy Hauler,
and Wentworth Construction will also include a ‘Warm Up” session for the
Sportsman Division. Gates are scheduled to open at 5 pm, with racing set to
begin at 6 pm.
In addition, the track will open its doors to a “Warm Up” session on April
7th for all competitors. And once again for 2007, admission to the
grandstands for spectators will be free, for this event!
The rest of the 2007 schedule is set to have plenty of races and events to
peek everyone’s interests.
It was also recently revealed that the infamous “Eye Rock 500”, the brain
child of local radio DJ Bob Wolf and the Wakin’ Up with the Wolf Show on
PYX106 will be run on the high banks in 2007.
The “Eye Rock 500”, tentatively scheduled for June 9th, 2007, is a
charitable event teaming legally or fully blind drivers with local Valley
drivers against other teams in a sprint to the finish for prizes, trophies,
but more importantly, raising money for “Camp Abilities” a camp for blind
and blind-deaf children.
Stay tuned for more upcoming races, and special events, including the
release of the 2007 Schedule, and a few more surprises. In addition, the
speedway has also begun selling its famed “Season Pass”! Great for those
who are planning to attend the whole season at the Valley of Speed, but at a
