Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series to Offer Interviews and B-roll via
Satellite Feed from Homestead-Miami Speedway Test

 

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (December 6, 2006) - Testing for the 2007 Grand-Am Rolex
Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve is now underway
at Homestead-Miami Speedway, with racing superstars Jeff Gordon and Sam
Hornish Jr. taking their first laps in Daytona Prototypes in preparation for
the prestigious Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 27-28, 2007.  NASCAR Nextel Cup
Champion Jimmie Johnson also arrived this morning and will test a Daytona
Prototype at the same venue where he clinched his first NASCAR title less
than a month ago.

 

In addition to on-site press conferences on Wednesday beginning at 12:00
Noon ET, Grand-Am will provide interviews and on-track footage via
satellite. Information on accessing the satellite feed is as follows:

The satellite feed will include interviews with the following drivers as
well as supporting b-roll:

 

Jeff Gordon - A four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and three-time winner
of the Daytona 500. Gordon will make his Rolex 24 At Daytona debut in 2007,
co-driving the No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac Riley with 2005 Daytona Prototype
co-champions Max Angelelli and Wayne Taylor. Angelelli and Taylor earned the
overall victory in the 2005 Rolex 24 At Daytona, and Taylor also claimed an
overall victory in the 1996 Rolex 24.

 

Sam Hornish Jr. - A three-time Indy Racing League IndyCar Series champion
and 2006 winner of the Indianapolis 500. Hornish will compete in his first
Rolex 24 At Daytona since 1999, co-driving the No. 60 Flight Options/Net App
Lexus Riley with his Penske Racing IndyCar teammate Helio Castroneves, a
two-time Indianapolis 500 winner, as well as Rolex Series regulars Oswaldo
Negri Jr. and Mark Patterson. Negri and Patterson finished second overall in
the 2006 Rolex 24.

 

Jimmie Johnson - The recently-crowned NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series champion will
return to the Rolex 24 At Daytona in 2007 following a one-year absence.
Johnson will co-drive the No. 91 Riley-Matthews Motorsports Pontiac Riley
with past Champ Car race-winner Ryan Hunter-Reay and road racing standouts
Marc Goossens and Jim Matthews. Johnson, the 2006 Daytona 500 winner,
finished second overall in the 2005 Rolex 24 At Daytona.
