Chrysler Group's Street and Racing Technology On the Grid for 'Race to Care' Benefit for POH Medical Center Children's Clinic

* Thrill rides in Street and Racing Technology vehicles around Waterford Hills Road Racing track offered for nominal donations * Exclusive SRT items also available in silent auction to benefit Race to Care

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 8 -- Chrysler Group's Street and Racing Technology will emphasize the "racing" part of the organization in its participation in the second annual Race to Care event from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Waterford Hills Road Racing track in Waterford on Saturday, Sept. 9.

"Nothing could be better than to show people the awesome capabilities of SRT vehicles on a race track and, at the same time, benefit a tremendous organization that provides much-needed services to children in Oakland County," said Mike Accavitti, Director - Motorsports and SRT Product Planning and Marketing, Chrysler Group.

Race to Care benefits the POH Medical Center Children's Clinic, which offers free health services to uninsured children in Oakland County. Ralph Gilles, Vice President - Activity Vehicle, Jeep(R)/Truck and Component Design, Chrysler Group, who is serving as this year's honorary chairman for Race to Care, said that although POH Medical Center remains the primary resource for supporting the clinic's free services, grants and fundraising efforts such as Race to Care go a long way to helping defray costs.

On Saturday, SRT will offer thrill rides around the Waterford Hills track for a donation of $25. Participants may choose to ride in a Dodge Charger SRT8, Dodge Magnum SRT8, Dodge Viper SRT10, Dodge Ram SRT10, Chrysler 300C SRT8, Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 or Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. For those with a more intense need for speed, thrill rides in a Dodge Viper Competition Coupe race car will be offered for a donation of $50. All donations will benefit the Race to Care.

There are a couple other ways to participate in the event as well.

Drivers may elect to participate by driving their own sports cars and classic vehicles on the track for a minimal donation to the Children's Clinic. Motorcycle riders are invited to ride from the POH Medical Center parking structure to the Waterford Hills Road Racing track to showcase cycles and participate in a "Best of Show" contest. A silent auction, including several items donated by SRT, will also be held to raise funds for the Children's Clinic.
