NASCAR Crew Chief Ted Kennedy To Call The Shots For Florida
Motorsports Group In Salem
Cape Coral, Florida April 19, 2005: Florida Motorsports Group (FMG) partners Rick Woodard
and Johnny Leonard announced today that veteran NASCAR crew chief Ted Kennedy
will call the shots of the Boca Bay Builders-Affordable Roofing Chevrolet
Monte Carlo for this weekend’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway.
Kennedy comes to Florida Motorsports Group providing a wealth of knowledge
and experience in the Motorsports industry. Ted has prior experience in the ARCA
RE/MAX Series as he called the shots for racecar driver Kevin Conway with
Ernie Irvan Motorsports back in 2002.
His positive reputation in the NASCAR Busch Series includes working with the
teams of Cicci-Welliever Racing, Gary Keller Motorsports and GIC-Mixon
Motorsports and drivers Todd Bodine, Mike McLaughlin, and Mike Harmon among others.
“We’re very pleased to have Ted Kennedy aboard this weekend,?? said FMG
partner Rick Woodard. “Ted has been observing our operation since Nashville. His
credentials are good and the changes that he has made have aided our team. We’
re looking forward to getting our season back on track with Ted this weekend.??
For driver Johnny Leonard, this is a good move. “This is a step in the right
direction,?? said the Cape Coral native. “Ted went to USA International
Speedway (Lakeland) test with us and I was impressed with the changes he made to
our racecar. We are a young team, but we are committed to winning and with Ted’
s expertise I think we are one step closer.??
After two disappointing finishes in the first two events of the 2005 ARCA
RE/MAX Series schedule, the entire team is looking forward to having a good run
this weekend in Salem. “There’s no doubt we have a monkey on our back right
now,?? added Johnny. “Salem is a good racetrack for me and I’ve got a lot of
confidence heading into the weekend. If we keep our nose clean we’ll get a
good finish and make a considerable climb in the race for the championship.??
