DALLAS, Texas (September 23, 2004) – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) showed off its new Texas Titan full-size pickup to auto writers at the State Fair of Texas Auto Show.  The special edition Titan was unveiled during a news conference today in the Centennial Building where the Texas Titan will be on display during the State Fair that runs September 24 through October 17.  The newest version of the Nissan Titan truck contains many new features not found on the original Titan introduced in December of 2003.

“When we first introduced the Titan, we provided a new level of innovation and bold styling you won’t find on any other truck in the market today,” said John Spoon, regional vice president of NNA’s South Central Region.  “With the Texas Titan, we’ve taken it a step further offering additional features Texans say they want in a truck while at the same time giving them a great value on something special.” The Texas Titan package contains seven features which include:
· Chrome 18” Wheels
· Chrome Step Rails
· Fog Lamps
· Factory Spray-on Bed Liner
· Special Finish Dash Accents
· Floor Mats w/ Texas Star
· “Texas Titan” Badge

Consumers in the south central part of the United States buy more than 26% of all Nissan Titans sold in America, and the majority of those are sold in Texas.

“We’ve been working on the Texas Titan since Nissan first decided to make a full-size truck and are excited about this truck’s potential in Texas,” added Spoon.  “This truck has got style and flash in addition to the power, size, and toughness Texans have come to expect in a truck.”

Consumers will also have the option of obtaining the other unique features to the Titan including the Utili-track tie-down system that provides ultimate cargo hauling flexibility and an integrated, lockable bedside storage compartment.

The Texas Titan will sit on a fully-boxed ladder frame and boast a 305-horsepower Nissan Endurance 5.6-liter DOHC V8 with a torque rating of 379 lb-ft.  It will also come with a standard 5-speed automatic transmission and a towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds when properly equipped.

The Texas Titan will be available in both King Cab and Crew Cab body styles and in 4x2 and 4x4 driveline configurations.  The Texas Titan will be assembled at Nissan’s newest manufacturing facility in Canton, Mississippi.

The Texas Titan will go on sale at Texas dealerships in early 2005 and will be available with a special offer (to be determined later) for Texas residents.
