dodge nascar winston cup quotes from samsung/radio shack 500 at Texas motor speedway

WARD BURTON (No. 22 Caterpillar Dodge Intrepid R/T)
"I don't know if it was camber or what, but we blew a tire going
into turn one. The groove actually moved up more than I thought it would. We
just didn't have that Caterpillar Dodge handling like it should. There
really wasn't any indication. I noticed it about 100 yards before I got to
one and slowed up a little bit. I think we probably had a top-15 car, but we
sure hit pretty damn hard. I know that. They checked out my neck, but I
think I'm all right."

STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Intrepid R/T)
"We were a little tight on the start. We got it freed up, but we
were still a little bit too tight. It was just one of them days. The motor
was off just a little bit. We couldn't run down the straightaways. We got
back in the top 10. We'd won the first two races we ran with this car this
year, so I guess it wasn't as good today or it would have won again. Still,
we're back in the top 10 after that 19th at Martinsville. Congratulations to
Matt Kenseth. I guess he's going to put the heat on us. On a clean track, we
were pretty good today, but we'll just take it and go on to Martinsville
next week."

JIMMY SPENCER (No. 40 Target Dodge Intrepid R/T)
"The car pushed, but we weren't bad. We ran in the top 10 most of
the day and made a couple of adjustments to try to get it better. At one
time, we really got a push to the car. We almost lost a lap and came back.
We adjusted back on it the other way, and we might have adjusted right in
the end because we came home in the top 10. That wasn't too bad. We're going
to have a lot of top 10s this year. We've got a good race team, and we're
learning a lot. We've got to get better figuring out stuff. Our pit stops
were awesome today. Sterling and I qualified 20th and 21st with the same
speed. We finished seventh and eighth. It's not where we want to be and it's
not where Chip expects us to be. The whole team expects more and we're going
to get better. We want top fives, and I know we can do that. We just missed
it a little bit today. We didn't get Happy Hour and we didn't test here.
That definitely hurt us. All the cars that tested were front running cars."

BILL ELLIOTT (No. 9 Dodge Dealers Dodge Intrepid R/T)
"We had a good run. It's another top 10. The guys did a good job.
We just couldn't get it freed up like we needed to. It was just too tight at
the end there, but we'll take it and head to Martinsville."

CASEY ATWOOD (No. 7 Sirius Satellite Radio Dodge Intrepid R/T)
"I feel pretty good, but I've felt better. It's definitely been a
rough week for me. We got sick the week before we got down here, and I could
never quite get over it. Hopefully we can go home and get some rest and get
ready for Martinsville. We had the car way too loose, and I think that was
from not getting a Happy Hour practice. We got the car driving better, but
we've just got to work on the body a little bit."

JOHN ANDRETTI (No. 43 Cheerios Dodge Intrepid R/T)
"It was a long day, but we finished. It handled pretty good at the
end. We were better than the others. The guys worked on it all day, and it
paid off at the end."
